New for Scriply Bible: Google Chrome Extension
We just made it even easier for you to read and share scripture online.
While the Google Chrome browser is still the new kid on the block it is off to an impressive start. Truth be told, the Todaymade development duo has already made it our default browser and we aren’t afraid to sing it’s praises. Chrome is still young but it is fast (Scrip.ly screams on Chrome) and it has a great development platform, which makes it a perfect fit for a little bit of Scriply integration.
No matter how you use Scriply, reading or sharing, we think that the extension platform is ideal for the Scriply experience. Like the Scriply site, our extension allows users to instantly read full bible passages within a single window and create short urls for use with various social networks and blogging tools. It truly is the fastest and easiest way to bring the Bible to your browser and share it with your friends.
Chrome extensions are still in the early phases. Full support for windows was just released with Chrome 4.0 this week. On the mac, the open source sister Chromium is required to run extensions. Download links are below. Give it a try and let us know what you think. Our todo list is in your hands.
To use this extension, just type in any bible verse and you will instantly see the full passage within the extension window. It will also create a short url that will link back to the Bible so you can share it with your friends on Twiiter, Facebook and other social networks. You can also copy and paste the url into other applications and blogging tools. With our extension, you can choose between two popular translations; the New American Standard Bible version and the King James Version.
One disclaimer, Chromium for the mac is an open source development build. In our experience it is very stable. Just be aware that it is beta software.
